When the Dixmont State Hospital for the insane was opened in 1859, no one could have imagined that the lobotomies and shock treatments given to its patients would give way to something much more sinister.

In the 1990s, the long-closed hospital was repurposed as a top-secret government test facility for the military. XD-1027 – an experimental bio weapon – was tested on convicts. It was a chemical that destroyed living tissue yet created functioning cells that should not have been self-sustaining. But they were. The side effects were horrific.

A full, uncontrolled contagion resulted. Officially “dead” patients roamed the grounds, looking for living flesh to rejuvenate their cells. U.S. military efforts to contain the outbreak met with limited success. In 2013, the outbreak reached uncontrollable levels. After the loss of over 1,100 soldiers, the military is now calling on local civilians to help eradicate the infected. Join forces with an elite military offensive to irradicate the infected and keep the world safe from a global pandemic. By enlisting, you will be issued a custom assault rifle with 50 rounds of chemically injected shells containing a chemical agent that will wipe this filth from the planet.
